Treasurer Report – Tony Mackness discussed details of the accounts. EA membership fees are expected to increase next year.
Social Events – Daisy Robbins confirmed a Christmas social event on Saturday 6th December at Albany Club in Earlsdon. Dates for the Awards Presentation were discussed and will be agreed soon.
Membership – So far, we have around 281 renewals and new memberships since the AGM.
Health and Safety – No issues in September.
Welfare – Collette O’Keefe (Welfare Office) said that the run leaders are often managing large groups. The recommended ratio is one run leader per 10 runners. Extra volunteers are particularly needed for Thursday training sessions. Rob Richardson will arrange a run leaders meeting.
Training – Rob Richardson said that there was a ‘taster’ cross-country session in Lakeview Park. Also, more people are obtaining or renewing CIRF / LIRF coaching accreditations.
Events – The cross-country season will be approaching soon, and dates and venues have been announced. This year the men need to register themselves for the Birmingham League. We are awaiting details and costs for the Warwick University Relays. There were some great performances recently – Natasha White broke the hour to set a new women’s club record for 10 miles. Claudie Combelas completed 100 marathons. Kevin Spare has been selected as a reserve for the England M70 cross-country team.
Runners of the Month – The winners are Natasha White (women’s club 10 miles record) and Tim Hughes (many recent PBs in races).
Northbrook Run Together – Sam Ryan has been leading the discussion group, focussing on safe places to train. There will be an awareness run for street harassment on 20th November from the Memorial Park to the Council House.
