Treasurer Report – Tony Mackness discussed details of the accounts. Cliff Evans has reminded the club that extra 10k race funding will be needed next year to replenish stocks. There were suggestions about what the club could spend more on. We will need more information about future fees and costs before we can agree on a suitable subsidy or expenditure.
MCAA Fee – The club received an invoice from MCAA asking for an additional £20 fee for various admin communications. There was a discussion about whether to pay the fee. There were 2 objections, but it was agreed that the club will pay the fee this year, and then review the decision next time, to see if we are receiving improved access to information about events.
Social Events – Daisy Robbins is considering organising a September social run and Christmas social event.
Membership – So far, we have around 268 renewals and new memberships since the AGM.
Health and Safety – No issues in August.
Welfare – Collette O’Keefe (Welfare Office) received great feedback on her presentation on welfare and wellbeing last month. This covered inclusion of injured members, podcasts, and a club vision. Collette will work with Tracey Williams to implement any agreed vision.
Training – Rob Richardson said that more people are obtaining or renewing CIRF/LIRF coaching accreditations.
Events – The Warks Road Race League is continuing. The next club event is the Midland relays at Sutton Park in September. The cross-country season will be approaching soon and some dates and venues have been announced.
Runners of the Month – The winners are Jan Watson (fantastic ultra running) and Spencer Davies (brilliant all round support and organising 12 stories event).
Northbrook Run Together – Sam Ryan has been leading the discussion group, focussing on safe places to train. As the darker nights approach, the group will reach out to other groups of runners to join in and train together, while raising awareness of runners’ safety.
