Treasurer Report – Tony Mackness discussed details of the accounts.
Social Events – Daisy Robbins is considering organising a September social run and Christmas social event.
Membership – So far, we have around 266 renewals and new memberships since the AGM.
Health and Safety – No issues in July. Collette O’Keefe (Welfare Officer) attended and showed us a great presentation on welfare and wellbeing.
Training – Rob Richardson discussed cover for training sessions and courses for more group leaders. Also, a combined group training session was discussed. We were asked about organising training for a children section, but we would need safeguarding certificates and extra coaches and volunteers. This will need a lot of further discussion.
Events – The Sphinx 1 mile relays were an enormous success for the club, and we had the biggest team. The Warks Road Race League and East Midlands Grand Prix is continuing. The next club event is the Midland relays at Sutton Park in September.
10km race – The Northbrook 10km race was a remarkable success, selling out for the first time. Thanks to all the sub-committee, organisers, helpers and runners. Charity donations were agreed for Coventry Dementia (£500), Scouts (£2000), Allesley Festival (£100). Cliff Evans and Tony Mackness gave a detailed review of the event. New first aid kits are needed.
Runners of the Month – The winners are Tori Boyle (Coombe marathon on extremely hot day) and Mike Duggan (great 10k run and inspiration).
Northbrook Run Together – This was initially discussed as a women’s safety group but really covers all members with concerns about safety when training. Sam Ryan has been leading the discussion group, focussing on safe places to train. A local MP recently attended Wednesday training to offer support. Daisy Evans mentioned ‘buddies’ for new members joining training groups at the club.
AOB
- Kit – Claudie Combelas will be offered a payment to cover costs of a design for some kit.
- Race the Train – an earlier train would be better for an earlier start next year. Bar codes could be used for results.
Next Meeting – Scheduled for Tuesday 2nd September by video conference.
