  1. Apologies – R. Cox (Coaching Co-ordinator), S. Eason (Women’s Captain)
  2. Matters arising from previous minutes – from Rob Cox – Shropshire Shufflers are happy for us to use their risk assessment templates.
  3. Treasurer’s Report – Tony Mackness circulated details before the meeting and answered questions about the club balance.
  4. Membership – Tim Hughes said we have 212 members so far.
  5. Health and Safety Incidents – None reported.
  6. Club Mailing Lists – Roger Ladbury will soon ask for permission to proceed with ‘Connect My Club’ as the trial is completed.
  7. Events – The Warwickshire Road Race League continues. The GBU club relay was a success. Thanks to Tim Hughes for calculating the team times. Next club events are Sphinx mile relays, and Tile Hill Race the Train.
  8. Social Events – A Christmas event is being considered for Saturday 9th December 2023.
  9. 10k race – Tony Mackness said entries are approaching 500, with entries available on the day. Steve Turvey is organising helpers and marshals.
  10. Improvers Course – The course has continued at Allesley Park and surrounding area recently.
  11. Summer Handicap – Next event on 5th July 2023. Barcodes are speeding up results.
  12. Social Media – Simon Aldridge has agreed to assist with this role.

  15. Runners of the Month – June 2023 – Men: Chris Archer (ran Hitchin Hard 10k, Giants Head Sydling Hill race, Two Castles 10k, Big Bear Summer 10k, Sphinx 5 and Tysoe Windmill 10k) Women: Michelle Edwards (several impressive Parkruns, as well as a strong leg in the GBU relay and runs in Two Castles 10k and Sphinx 5).
  16. Any other business:
    1. Women’s Cross Country League Division 2 – from Sally Eason – no venues have been found for some fixtures – we discussed options, but we are unable to host a fixture.
    2. Men’s Birmingham Cross Country League Division 3 – 4 fixtures are confirmed, but using only 2 venues.
    3. London Marathon Club Places 2024 – Mark Baker will monitor the website for information, but none is expected until the Autumn.
    4. Demographics – Terry Moynihan will analyse our inclusivity when seeking new members.
  17. Next Meeting – Tuesday 1 August 2023 at 7.30pm to be held by video conference.
