NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETINGS

  1. Apologies – S. Duffy (Social Secretary)
  2. Matters arising from previous minutes – EA made an error regarding London Marathon club places. No places are available.
  3. Treasurer’s Report – Tony Mackness discussed the accounts that he sent out before the meeting. The payments for lockups were also discussed, and an inventory check of stock in the lockups will be done later.
  4. Events – The Midlands road relays were a great team event. There is a lot of interest in the Hilly 100, but we are waiting to hear how many teams we are allowed to enter. The Warwickshire Road Race League will begin at Easter.
  5. Social Events – The Celebration of Running Awards night was a great success. Thanks to Sarah Duffy for organising it. There was also a raffle fundraiser. Jaguar function room is booked to present awards to members who missed the event.
  6. Membership – Subscriptions are due from members. 173 members have renewed so far. Tim Hughes asked about documents which may be required by EA during club affiliation.
  7. 10k Improver Course – Rob Cox said coaching will begin on Thursday 28th April in Allesley Park. A rota of leaders is being arranged. Participants need to sign a disclaimer.
  8. 10k race – The entries are about to open for the race. There will be Parkrun publicity at Coventry and Bedworth for the 10k race.
  9. Runners of the Month – March 2022 – Men: Terry Moynihan (great half marathon and 20 miles races), Women: Natasha White (club record for 20 miles, 1st female in Warwick half marathon).
  10. Any other business:
    1. Summer Handicap – first race will be at 7pm on Wednesday 6th April from Jaguar entrance. Members need to pre-enter.
    2. Welfare Officers – 2 volunteers are needed. Details will be communicated to members.
    3. Lockups – locations, access and future options were discussed.
    4. Official Sunburst Tops – need to be worn at EA team events and cross country races.
    5. Sphinx 5 miles – will be a club night in Memorial Park on 8th June.
  11. Next Meeting – Tuesday 3 May 2022 at 7.30pm to be held by video conference.
