NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETINGS

  1. Apologies – A. Mackness (Treasurer), T. Hughes (Membership Secretary)
  2. Matters Arising from previous meeting – AGM proposals discussed
  3. Treasurer’s Report – Tony Mackness could not attend, but accounts were recently discussed at the AGM.
  4. England Athletics (EA) Coronavirus COVID-19 Advice – The latest information is always available on the EA website or from the leaders and coaches.
  5. Events – The Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country leagues are continuing with the final races this month, and National Cross-Country events are taking place soon. The Warks Cross- Country was cancelled. Spencer Davies asked for refunds, as agreed with committee, from non-runners for the Midlands Cross-Country races. The Midlands road relays and Hilly 100 are next for team races
  6. Social Events – Sarah Duffy said the Celebration of Running night is booked for 5th March 2022 at Jaguar. Tickets will be £15.
  7. AGM – Subscriptions are now due from members. The committee agreed to discuss further a proposal for subsidies for long term injured runners. It was agreed that EA have a category for non-competing members which could cover this. Tony French will check the rules.
  8. 10km race – Tony Mackness hopes that the race will go ahead this year on 10th July. Bruker and Coventry Runner are continuing sponsorship of the race.
  9. Runners of the Month – January 2022 – Men: Matt Hathrell (won Gato 10km), Women: Sarah Duffy (good parkruns and 10km).
  10. Any other business:
    1. Agenda – Rob Cox asked for agenda to be circulated before meeting.
    2. Backup for Treasurer – investigate if anyone else can access account in emergencies.
    3. Runner of the Month vouchers – A club poll of members favoured a draw for a £60 voucher for annual winners. This was agreed at AGM.
    4. Training Leaders – some are covering sessions every week and need help from others.
    5. Awards – Bob Adams is collecting trophies from last year’s winners.
    6. New Members Pack – Tim Hughes is reviewing a club introduction pack.
    7. Voting – there will be details circulated for Clubperson of the Year and most Improved Runner with shortlists available.
    8. Summer Handicap – first race will be at 7pm on Wednesday 6th April from Lyons Park entrance.
  11. Next Meeting – Tuesday 1 March 2022 at 7.30pm to be held by video conference.
