NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Treasurer’s Report – Tony Mackness circulated a report and discussed details of the accounts. There are still some further payments due for track bookings. Also, training group payments were discussed. Tony will be unavailable for part of June, but Bob and Mark can access the club accounts.
Social Events – Daisy Robbins sent a message to the committee, to say that a breakfast trail run from Jaguar will take place on 28th June, but some run leaders will need to attend. Daisy will send out details to members.
Membership – We have 272 paid up members so far.
Health & Safety/Welfare – There were no incidents in May. Debbie Campbell has completed her coaching training. Debbie will speak to Collette O’Keefe about any other health and safety topics.
Training – Training nights have been trialling the same types of sessions for many group levels. However, run leaders can choose to promote their own preferred sessions if they wish to do so.
Events – There have been many great performances recently including in the Warks Road Race League, and the Cotswolds Hilly 100 relay. The Sphinx 5 miles and relays are soon. The Summer Handicap continues. Also, GBU is on for 24th June and Race the Train on 15th July.
10K Race – Entries numbers are ahead of last year so far. The Thursday 10k training for beginners will continue.
Cross-Country – Northbrook and Sphinx will co-host the final fixture of the men’s Birmingham League Division 3 and the women’s Midland League Division 2 at Coombe Abbey (morning) on 13th February 2027.
Runners of the Month – The winners are Jane Ward (South Downs 20 miles run) and Spencer Davies (organisation of 6 teams in Cotswolds Hilly 100 and many other tasks).

  1. Youth Policy – the committee agreed to discuss before the next AGM.
  2. Results of Races – Members are reminded to make sure that they check or upload their own results for inclusion on the website and road race championships.
