NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Apologies – T. Williams (Welfare Officer). Unfortunately Tracey is unable to continue in her Welfare Officer role.
Treasurer Report – Tony Mackness discussed details of the accounts. There was a discussion around the best methods to obtain subscription payments.
Social Events – Daisy Robbins discussed the Christmas social event at Albany Club in Earlsdon which was a great success. The Awards Presentation will be held on 28th February at the Jaguar club.
Membership – We currently have a total of 294 members.
Health & Safety/Training – There were no incidents in December. A new Welfare Officer is needed alongside Collette O’Keefe. The club is checking whether the Welfare Officer role needs to become a committee role to be compliant with EA rules.
Training – Rob Richardson will update information regarding Thursday sessions locations. The first few sessions on Wednesday nights in January will be the same for each level.
Events – The cross-country season is progressing well. The women are seeking promotion from division 2 of the Midland cross-country League. The men are battling to stay in division 2 of the Birmingham League. The Midland cross-country and National cross-country races are approaching soon.
Runners of the Month – The winners Gemma Beahan (consistency and improvement in race performances) and Mark Parker (strong return to running and organising Christmas social run).
AOB

  1. London Marathon Club Places – Gemma Winch has informed the club that she was not able to complete the required qualifying events. Therefore, Liam Shields (reserve) has accepted the club place. Tim Devenport also has a club place.
  2. Parkrun Grand Prix Competition – Rob Richardson said that the competition is continuing with a lot of participation
  3. Beginner Training Sessions for Northbrook 10K – the committee agreed that there can be a series of training sessions that need to be advertised very soon
  4. Injured Members – Daisy Robbins discussed the walking group on club night
  5. AGM – Proposal and nomination deadlines are approaching soon
  6. Website – Roger Ladbury has done fantastic work with the club website for many years, and he continues to do so. Roger has spoken to Bob Adams with a view to arranging a working group to divide up some of the website work, and pass on understanding of technical issues related to the website
  7. Social Media – Daisy Robbins, Rhys Robbins and Tim Hughes have been doing great work, but will be unavailable for a few months this year. The club is seeking help to continue managing our social media platforms
  8. Club Rules – Bob Adams will let Roger Ladbury know that the details of Cross-Country Awards can be updated in the club rules

Next Meeting – Scheduled for Tuesday 3rd February 2026 online, for the new committee, after the AGM on Wednesday 21st January 2026 at Jaguar and online.
