  1. Apologies – None
  2. Committee Roles – Sarah Duffy has stepped down as Social Secretary and advertised for a replacement. Thanks to Sarah for all her work organising events. Daisy Robbins has agreed to take on this role. It needs to be formally agreed at the AGM, but Daisy can start to do the role straight away.
  3. Health and Safety – Rob Richardson gave a training update and reported no health and safety incidents last month.
  4. Treasurer’s Report – Tony Mackness sent details of accounts.
  5. Training – Rob Richardson provided an update on training and coaching. Rob released the first coaching newsletter.
  6. Summer Handicap – There were organisational issues with the last Summer Handicap. We need to confirm the list of starters for the next event. Thanks to Tim Hughes for working out the results. Richard French was also thanked for his work on the Summer handicap over many years. The committee supported the idea of discussing mitigation strategies if there are future issues.
  7. Events – The club organised a successful GBU relay event. Thanks to Tim Hughes for organising the teams. The Warks Road Race league is continuing. The Sphinx mile relays are soon.
  8. 10k race – The 10k race and fun run take place on 7th July 2024. Terry Moynihan and Tony Mackness discussed the progress and organisation of the 10K race, highlighting the strong team effort and the community engagement initiatives, including giving away entries to support various groups. Terry discussed a separate proposal, to close Watery Lane to through traffic, on the 10k course, which was supported by the committee..
  9. Runners of the Month – June 2024 – The winners are Allison Smith (helped a fallen runner in a race) and Martin McGough (great race results).
  10. Any other business:
    1. Club Photo – to be arranged at the August Summer Handicap.
    2. Northbrook Runner Magazines – Mark Baker to discuss with Roger Ladbury about updating the club history on the website with information from the Northbrook Runner magazines kindly received from John McKenna.
    3. Race the Train Event – Bob discussed the upcoming Tile Hill Race the Train event, seeking volunteers for guide runners and timekeeping, emphasizing the event as a fun activity ending at the auction house. The date may change depending on other events.
  11. Next Meeting – Tuesday 30 July 2024 at 7.30pm to be held by video conference.
