T. Hughes (Membership Secretary)
D. Robbins (Social Secretary- acting)
S. Davies (Men’s Captain)
R. Richardson (Coaching Co-ordinator)

Apologies – S. Eason (Women’s Captain)
Social Events – Daisy Robbins attended her first meeting to discuss social events. Daisy will send a survey to members to find out the best option for a Christmas event. Also, the Awards Evening in 6 months time, will need some preparation and planning.
Health and Safety – Rob Richardson gave a training update and reported no health and safety incidents last month.
Treasurer’s Report – Tony Mackness sent details of accounts.
Membership – We have around 250 members, so are probably the biggest club in Coventry. Tim Hughes asked if we could use card readers to collect subscriptions. The committee said it could be an option, but it would incur an extra administration charge of £2.
Training – Rob Richardson and Spencer Davies provided an update on training and coaching. The Thursday improvers’ training for the Northbrook 10km race, will continue for a few more weeks. The whole club session in Coundon Park was a highlight. Level 3 is the largest training group. Could it be split into two groups, or have 2 leaders with the group? It was great to see new leaders taking group sessions recently.
Events – The Warks Road Race League continued with the Stratford 6 miles race. The final Summer Handicap race is taking pace soon. The Midland Road Relays at Sutton Park are in September as well. Soon it will be the start of the Men’s and Women’s cross-country season. The postponed National Cros-Country event in Telford is also in September.
10k Race – The 10k race and fun run successfully took place on 7th July 2024. Tony Mackness said the organisation well very well, and the organising sub-committee have agreed to continue their roles for next year. There were 599 entrants, and 510 finishers (not all entrants started the event). Charitable donations were agreed by the committee as follows – UHCW (Hospital) – £2000, Allesley Scouts – £600, Allesley Festival – £50. Thanks to all the organisers and helpers.
Connect My Club (CMC) – Extra CMC licences may be required soon as our membership increases.
Runners of the Month – The winners are Jenn Ennis (great run in Stratford 6 miles race and other races) and Tony Bowe (incredible performance in UTMB 100k race).

Any other business:

  1. Jaguar Club and Sports Facilities – ‘Elite’ are no longer operating the sports facilities. We await news of when the facilities will be available again.
  2. London Marathon Club Places – a maximum of 2 places are available per club.
  3. Coombe Abbey Cross Country – We are co-hosting (with Sphinx) a Birmingham League and Midlands League event in February 2025.
  4. Club Photo – to be arranged at a future event.
  5. Social Media – we need to seek more people who can help us with our content, and focus it on the best platform to reach potential members and new members.
  6. New Club Equipment – may need to be purchased soon.

Next Meeting – Tuesday 1 October 2024 at 7.30pm to be held by video conference.
