R. Adams (Chairman)
M. Baker (Secretary)
A. Mackness (Treasurer)
T. Hughes (Membership Secretary)
S. Davies (Men’s Captain)
S. Eason (Women’s Captain)
R. Cox (Coaching Co-ordinator)
- Apologies – S. Duffy (Social Secretary)
- Matters arising from previous minutes – None.
- Treasurer’s Report – Tony Mackness circulated details before the meeting and answered questions about the club balance. Matt Hathrell is auditing the accounts before the AGM.
- Membership – We have 234 total members so far.
- ‘connectMyClub’ – The end of January 2024 was suggested as a date when we could try to fully move communications to ‘connectMyClub’ and stop using other messaging areas. The committee will need to send emails through the app, and Bob Adams has been liaising with Roger Ladbury to achieve this. The weekly speech and training information could be added to the app soon.
- Health and Safety Incidents – No training incidents to report.
- Risks and Incident Forms – Terry Moynihan updated some scenarios and is sending them to Rob Cox and Rob Richardson for review.
- Events – The Warks Cross-Country Championships were held in December at Warley Woods. This month, the men and women league cross-country races are at Walsall, followed by the Midland Cross-Country Championships at Leamington.
- Social Events – Thanks to Sara Duffy for organising the successful Christmas event at the Artisan restaurant on 9th December 2023. The Awards Night is being booked for 9th March 2024 at Jaguar.
- Training – Thanks to all the leaders for continuing to organise sessions. It is encouraging that 6 new people have expressed an interest in the LIRF course. Rob Cox clarified that leaders need to organise 10 sessions before they can get their full course reimbursement from the club.
- Volunteer Recognition – Rob Cox asked the committee to approve the purchase of whistles for run leaders who organise 25 sessions or more. This was approved by the committee. It was also suggested that a ‘roll of honour’ is created to recognise all volunteers.
- AGM – This will again be virtual and will be held on Thursday 11th January 2024. We will contact the membership about options if we know that they do not have any online access. 2 proposals have been received. Details of proposals are available to members to view before voting at the AGM. Committee posts and some non-committee posts have nominations in place. However, some roles, especially on the 10km sub-committee need further communication before the AGM.
- Runners of the Month – December 2023 – Men: Men: Malc Copeland (supported and represented club at many races), Women: Ruth Hallett (lots of good cross country races).
- Any other business:
- London Marathon Club Draw – New AGM rules were applied to the draw for eligibility and first time London Marathon runners. Julie Liggett and Caroline Hughes were successful in the draw for club places.
- Coventry Half Marathon – has been arranged for Sunday 28th April 2024.
- Veteran of the Year – the committee needs to discuss this award at the next meeting.
