19/10/14 | Ladies Marathon Club Record Smashed Ladies Club Captain Amanda Deavy led Northbrook home in the Abingdon Marathon on 19 October. Finishing in 3:08:29, she not only ran her best ever time for the distance she also smashed the Club's previous ladies record (set by Rebecca Smith in 2005) by nearly 3 minutes. |
05/10/14 | And Another Win for Northbrook - Warwickshire Road Race League In the 2014 series, Northbrook's Amanda Deavy finished 1st LV35, Peter Fellows 3rd MV55 and Anne Hughes 2nd LV55. 03/09/14 | Summer Handicap The Club's Summer Handicap Series continued to be a hugely popular fixture in the calendar with Club regulars and guests. Races were staged on the first Wednesday of each month from April through to September. Race 6 on 3 September saw 60 members and guests battling for points, the event being won for the men by Jonathan Boyd and for the ladies by Julie Cozens. In the overall standings, Tara Lambert kept her lead at the top of the ladies' table, whilst Adrian Powell held on to a 2-point margin to hang on to the top spot in the men's table. Results |

13/07/14 | Northbrook 10k Perfect running conditions contributed to the success of Northbrook's twelfth staging of this hugely popular fixture in the race calendar. Incorporating both the Warwickshire 10k County Championships and the sixth race in the Warwickshire Road Race League the event attracted over 580 entries, with 75 children registered for the accompanying Fun Run. This year the race has chosen to work with the children's charity Zoë's Place as the main beneficiary. The race also supports the Allesley Festival and Allesley Scouts. Results ... |
01/07/14 | Another Win for Northbrook After the eighth and final race of the East Midlands Grand Prix series, the Milton Keynes 10k on 1 July, evergreen Mick Duggan finished in 1st place overall in the V70 category. |
29/06/14 | Win for Northbrook With a nine-minute lead over his nearest rival. Northbrook's Dave Almond took the winner's prize at the Coombe Abbey Festival of Running Marathon on 29 June in a time of 3h:8m:22s. |
21/04/14 | Our Man in Boston ![]() The Boston Marathon this year was a special event after the bombings at the finish line last year. Mark Baker was one of 36,000 entrants qualifying to run, and more than a million spectators lined the route. It was one of Mark's slowest marathon times, but it didn’t seem that important for once. 08/02/14 | Birmingham League Race 4 Northbrook played hosts to the 4th and final race in this season's Birmingham League cross-country race at Coundon Hall Park on 8 February and provided a demanding course in very windy conditions. Despite an excellent turnout, the hosts finished 16th on the day and ended up in the relegation zone by finishing in 17th position overall. Northbrook willl join local rivals Sphinx AC and Massey Ferguson in Division 3 in the 2014/2015 series. Results |

11/01/14 | Northbrook Eggheads In Cracking Form A team of Northbrook eggheads finished 2nd out of 30 teams in a quiz hosted at Massey Ferguson's Social Club on Saturday 11 January, after the Wyken Croft cross country race. Members of Sphinx AC helped to write the quiz questions, and many other clubs and friends attended on the night. The Northbrook team of Bob Adams, Mark Baker, Richard Cawley, Richard Hands and Damian Pharoah tested their knowledge on a wide range of subjects. Over £1100 was raised for charity at an excellent event. |
