NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

7^th January 2008: Minutes prepared by Mark Baker

1. Present: B.Adams (Chairman), M.Baker (Secretary), A.Marshall (Running Advisor), P.Stead (Treasurer), N.Holmes (Mens Captain), T.French (Members Sec), B.Awcock (President),

2. Apologies –Sylvia Guthrie (Social Sec), H.Andersen (Vice Captain).

3. Matters From Last Meeting –

a) London Marathon Club Place Winners – Helen Morris, Alix Critchley, Richard French

b) YHA Training Weekend – Thanks to Rob Barry for a great weekend.

c) AGM – this is booked for 24/1/2008 at Jaguar.

d) Payments – Bob Adams paid Fun Run funds to ‘Rainbow’. Storage lock-up fee to be paid.

e) Website – We paid for renewal fee.

4. Treasurers Report – Paul Stead has not been added officially as a signatory yet. The cheque book and paying in book are now available. Paul will produce AGM accounts.

5. Mens / Ladies Captain's Report – Nathan Holmes said that the men were 8^th in the Birmingham XC League (6^th overall). Other races were Warks XC, Midland 7’s XC and Xmas Pudding 10 miles.

6. Social Secretary Report – The Presentation Night is on 12/1/2008 at the Coventry Hill Hotel. There is live music from Swordfish / Crazy Diamond, and a good food menu. There is a capacity of 80 people and prices are subsidised to £12.50 (should be £17.50 or more).

7. Any Other Business–

a) Runner of Month – Dec 2007: Loretto Denley.

b) AGM – 2 proposals received so far.

c) 10Km race – we will get the venue free as a result of hosting the Presentation Night. Preparations are underway for this years race.

d) Winter Handicap – Bob Adams will calculate winners from last season’s final series.

e) Xmas Newsletter – Thanks to Dan McHugh for producing a great issue

f) Nike Van – a visit to the club is being planned

g) Warks Road Race League AGM – this is planned for later this month

h) Coundon Park XC – Thanks for all the help from members on the day. Refreshments made over £100. Tony French is applying for a refund of costs from the league.
