Welcome
Hello and welcome.
Northbrook AC is a club where enjoyment is just as important as achievement.
The club was founded in 1978 as Northbrook Striders and initially had only a dozen members. Today we have over 100 members.
As a club we try to cater for all levels of runners. There is a range of abilities from the sub-five minute milers to the ten-minute milers. Club members participate for different reasons and you will find competitive runners and social runners within the club.
During the autumn/winter season Northbrook participates in the cross-country season, and during the summer it takes part in the road races. However, throughout the year there are many different types of races (half-marathons, marathons, 10K races, fell races, etc) to take part in and club runners are kept up-to-date with local and national race fixtures.
Every year we have on average eight runners competing in the London Marathon.
Of course, it is not all hard work and one thing Northbrook prides itself on is its friendly atmosphere and social events. These range from curry nights and quizzes to barbeques and pub nights and weekends away cycling/walking/running. There is an annual presentation night where the club awards its own prizes and trophies to various categories of runners. The club also organises the popular ‘Allesley Festival Fun Run’ that takes place every July. Also we promote  our  own 10K race in  June. As a club runner you do not pay the ‘unattached’ levy when entering races and most running shops will give you a 10% discount on non-sale items.
If you like the sound of all this, why not come along on a Wednesday night to the Jaguar Sports Club (times below) and give us a try . After a shower  we meet up in the bar.  Alternatively, join us on one of our longer Sunday morning runs (times below).
