NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 7 September 2015

  1. Apologies – R. Awcock (President), A. Mackness (Treasurer), J. Wilson (Men's Captain), A. Deavy (Ladies' Captain).
  2. Treasurer's Report – Tony Mackness sent details of the accounts. Tony asked if Tracy Morgan could send him a breakdown of kit sales.
  3. Membership – We have 154 paid members. There are many club vests in stock. Some old stock has been sold.
  4. Social Secretary Report – There was a curry night at Spon Street. Thanks to Corinna O’Connor for organising it.
  5. Mens/Ladies Captain's Report – Recent race results are on the website. The Thunder Run 24 hour relay was well attended. Northbrook won several categories at the Sphinx relays. The final Summer Handicap was well attended. The Sutton Park relays are on 19th September. Bob Adams will be captain on the day. The XC relays at Uttoxeter are in October. John Wilson will start Myton hospice training from December.
  6. 10Km race – Roger Ladbury discussed our charity donations to Zoe’s Place, Scouts, Great Ormond Street and Allesley Festival. Next year, Myton Hospice will be our main charity partner.
  7. Runner of the Month – July winners – Men: Spencer Davies – Ryton PB, Ladies: Amy Burdis – 100 mile race PB. August winners – Men: Bob Adams – Massey V55 prize, Ladies: Sarah McNaney – BRAT 5km PB.
  8. Any other business –
    1. Winter Handicap – John Wilson will consider a one-off event soon.
    2. London Marathon Club Places – there should be information in November.
    3. Publicity – we could invite Sarah Booker or Vicky Whitlock to help.
    4. Training Holiday – Clive Horton may arrange a trip to Devon next year
    5. Triathlon – Corinna O’Connor will represent GB in her age group
    6. Presentation Night / AGM – needs to be booked at Jaguar
    7. President – Bob Awcock will not seek re-election at the AGM.
  9. Next Meeting – Monday 5th October 8pm.at Mark Dalton's residence.
