NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING
held on 13th December 2010 at Bob Adams' residence

- Matters From Last Meeting –
- 145 paid memberships received.
- London Marathon – The club has not received any places. The London Marathon say
that they have not received a club application, but this was sent by recorded delivery. Royal Mail cannot provide
evidence of a signature.
- Club Vests – several new members have paid for vests, but are waiting to receive
them.
- Treasurer's Report – full details were circulated by Paul Stead.
- Ladies' Captain's Report – Ladies ran in the Midland XC league, Coombe 8 miles and Warwick University relays.
- Men's Captain's
Report – John Hosie said that the men finished 13th out of 18 teams in the second Division 2 fixture of the Birmingham
XC League at Severn, and are 15th overall, 200 points above the relegation zone.
- A Christmas meal was arranged at the Dragon Phoenix Chinese restaurant on 10th December supported by 20 members. The
Presentation Night will be held at Jaguar on 29th January 2011. Entertainment is provided by Craig McNaney and Paul Stead.
Improved food options will be needed. Tickets are £10.
- 5Km/10Km Races – Northbrook donated £100 from the 5Km race to Allesley charities. Bob Adams and Tony
French presented the cheque at a special festival evening.The next 5Km is proposed for 10th July 2011. The10Km race
date will be 15th May 2011 based at Jaguar. Entry fees are proposed as £8 (or £10 unattached). £11
on the day. Fun Run £3. Volunteers for the 10Km sub-committee are required (Corinna O’Connor has joined).
The same charities will be supported.
- Runner of the Month – November: Dave Fawkner – 3 marathons in 3 days.
- Any Other Business –
- Training Groups – Clive Horton and Andy Houston discussed possible ideas for improving these groups,
as level 2 is now very small and level 3 is a large group. More people should be encouraged to lead training
sessions.
- Training – Dave Dix arranged a coaching workshop on 12th December which was attended by Clive
Horton. Clive outlined the ideas and training techniques discussed.
- Committee – Thanks to Tony French
and John Hosie for all their efforts, as they are resigning from the committee at the AGM. New applications
are encouraged.
- Visibility – Runners are encouraged to wear visible clothing, as many are not being
seen by drivers on Wednesday evenings.
- Sail Banners - Roger Ladbury is placing an order for a sail banner
in January.
- AGM – arranged at Jaguar on 2nd February 2011. Details and voting slips are to be circulated
to members. Proposals are encouraged.
- Christmas Run – Tony Mackness is arranging this event at Tile Hill
Station on 19th December.
- Thunder Run Relay 2011 – The club will provide a 25% subsidy for entries.
- Warks 10Km – this
is the Two Castles 10Km – club runners are guaranteed entry up to the closing date.
- Next Meeting – Monday 10th January 2011, 8.00pm. Venue Bob Adams' residence.
