NORTHBROOK ATHLETIC CLUB COMMITTEE MEETING

held on 22nd March 2010 at Alix Critchley's residence

  2. Matters From Last Meeting –
    1. Thanks to Alix Critchley for hosting us at a new venue.
    2. 94 paid memberships received so far. Membership cards are needed. England Athletics registration forms have been received.
    3. Warwickshire Road Race League presentations are at Coventry Godiva at the same time as this meeting – Corinna O’Connor is attending.
  3. Treasurers Report – Details distributed by Paul Stead.
  4. Ladies' Captain's Report – Ladies team ran in 6 stage relay at Sutton Park. Rebecca Smith ran in the Inter-Counties XC.
  5. Men's Captains Report – The men had teams in the 12 stage and Masters 6 stage relays at Sutton Park. Howard Andersen ran his first sub 3 hour marathon at Barcelona.
  6. Social Secretary Report – A pub night is planned at the Holyhead for Friday 26/3/2010. A post marathon meal can be arranged in May.
  7. REVS Radio Equipment/Trailer – The trailer purchased from REVS has been declared ‘not road legal’, after inspection at a garage. Therefore, it cannot be used by the club. Tony French will speak to REVS to seek a refund. The barriers and equipment need to be stored at a suitable venue.
  8. 10Km Race – The new date is Sunday 18th April 2010, to precede the Coventry Half Marathon (23rd May). The start and registration will be at Jaguar. Tony French discussed full details of preparations, and requires more marshals. The next committee meeting will precede the race, to discuss final plans.
  9. Runner of the Month – March award cannot be chosen until the next meeting. It was agreed that winners from January 2010 should receive a bottle of wine - Jan 2010: Rebecca Smith, Lyn MacDonald, Cath Fenn (2nd ladies vets team at Warks XC), Feb 2010: James Joyce (Wokingham Half Marathon PB).
  10. Any Other Business –
    1. Summer Diary – Tony French is compiling this. The Good, Bad & Ugly relay will be on Wednesday 11th August from the White Lion.
    2. Track & Field Night – to be booked at Kirkby Corner.
    3. Summer Handicap – the first race is on 7th April at 7.15pm.
    4. Lucozade Talk – John Hosie asked if this could be arranged at the club.
    5. Letter to ex-members – the committee received a full reply after writing to some ex-members. They are considering whether to return to the club in future.
    6. Next Meeting – Monday 12th April 2010, 8.00pm at Bob Adams' residence.
