We are, again, incorporating a Children's 2km Fun Run. This
is to keep the event family based by including a run for children under 15 years
of age. The Fun Run will start at 9.30am.
The route starts in Washbrook Lane and runs up one side of the road to just
before Hawkes Mill Lane and returns down the other side.
All children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

Entry forms will also be sent to all Affiliated Clubs in the Midlands, and
to shops and businesses around the Coventry area.
There will be "Entry on the Day" (subject to race limit) at the race
HQ, but you are asked to arrive in good time before the 10.15am start.

If you are a member of a club affiliated to
UK Athletics the entry fee is £8.00.
If you are an unattached competitor (not a member of a
club affiliated to UK
Athletics) the entry fee is £10.00.
If you enter on the day of the race, the entry fee is £11.00.
Numbers will be posted out on a weekly basis from the end of
March. Numbers for entries received after 7 May will be available
for collection on the day from the Race HQ.
Numbers for postal entries submitted without a SAE
will be available

Can you tell me more about the Warwickshire Road Race Championships?
The Warwickshire Road Race Championships is a series of nine raod races from Spring through to Autumn. The best six results count for individual placings, the best six results count for team placings. For more details visit our Warwickshire Road Race League web page.
What are the race conditions/rules?
How many times has the race been run?
This is the 9th year.
Application for a permit has been made.
Has the course been officially measured?
Yes, in accordance with UKA rules. Each kilometre will be marked
by roadside signs and by marks on the road.
The height of the start is 110m above sea level. The highest point is 164m.
The lowest point and finish are 100m above sea level.
The race HQ is Jaguar Sports and Social Club, Browns Lane, Allesley.
Coventry, CV5 9DR.
The start is immediately adjacent to the Race HQ.
What are the directions to the event?
Will sports massage be available after the race?
Yes, Fire and Earth will have their distinctive red tent located at the Race HQ (Jaguar Sport & Social Club), and will be offering free Sports Massage to all participants. Just go along, have a chat and ease the pain.
How are the local residents affected?
A letter will be delivered to all residencies along the route approximately 2 weeks before the race explaining how residents may be affected.
How are users of the Jaguar Sports and Leisure Club affected?
Browns Lane will be closed to all traffic for approx 10 minutes from 10.10 am. So access and egress to the Club will necessarily be curtailed for this period.
What are the car parking facilities?
Parking is available at the Race HQ. When the main car park is full marshals will direct you to the overspill car park at Townfields Stables in Butt Lane, just a short walk from the Race HQ. Competitors must not park in Browns Lane as this affects access for residents and may impede the race route.
Where are the changing facilities?
There are changing facilities and showers at the Race HQ.
Where are the toilet facilities
There are toilets at the Race HQ. The start is immediately adjacent to the race HQ.

Does the route have Council and Police Approval
Yes.
The course will be marked in km.
Where is the start and finish?
The start is at the Race HQ, the Jaguar Sports and Social Club, Browns Lane,
Allesley. Coventry, CV5 9DR.
The finish
is in Washbrook Lane just before Streamside Close, approximately 300m from
the Race HQ.
The race is run around the Allesley to Corley area in Coventry over a course that is undulating and very scenic. The finish is at a lower elevation than the start. The last 3 km will be fast. The route should be traffic free.
Water stations will be located just after 3 km (Bridlebrook Lane), at around 6 km (Corley Moor) and at the finish.
How does the rolling road closure work?
Just before runners enter a road it will be closed. The road will remain closed until the last runner has passed through.
First aid will be provided. However you have a duty of care
to yourself to ensure that you are medically fit to undertake this event.
Remember the race takes place in late Spring and you should be prepared for
unpredictable weather conditions.
What are the age categories and prizes?
Prize distribution will be worked out nearer the time of the
race, based on the level of sponsorship we achieve and on the number of entries
in each category.

Note, that any one competitor can win only one prize. For example,
if the 1st male competitor to finish is in age category 35+, he will
qualify for the 1st Senior Male prize only, and the 1st 35+ category prize
will then be awarded to the 2nd Male 35+ category competitor to finish.
Club Teams are teams of competitors who are members of the same Affiliated (to England Athletics) Club. Number to count as indicated.
When and where do the the presentations take place?
Presentations will take place at the Race HQ after the race at approx 12.00 noon.
Will refreshments be available after the race?
Yes, the bar will open and food, tea and coffee will be available.
When will the results be available, and how do I get a copy?
The results should be available on line by Sunday Evening. You can request a copy of the results to be sent to you on payment of £1.
Will there be an official photographer?
No, but amateur photographers are welcome to photograph the event provided photographs are placed in the public domain.
We video the race, especially the finish, for record purposes and in case of any conflict in the timed results. If the recording is of suitable quality we may assemble a DVD and offer it for sale via our website.
Can you tell me more about Northbrook AC?
Full details can be found on this website under 'New Members'. We have approx 140 members and we meet on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. We cater for all levels. Our aim is for everyone to enjoy being a member.
Do Northbrook put on any other races
Yes, the Allesley Fun Run (approx 3 miles) in conjunction with the Allesley Festival and, by agreement, Birmingham Cross Country League.

The event aims to raise money for our chosen charities. Most of our costs are
to pay for the road closure, which enables us to offer a "Traffic Free"
course, and the cost of suitable equipment for marshalling the race.
